Shelby SuperCars broke the "World's Fastest Production Car" record in the summer of 2007. Now the car company is reaching for new heights with it Ultimate Aero EV (Electric Vehicle) model: the first 100% Green SuperCar.

The first prototype is expected in early 2009 and the car may be available as early as the end of 2009.

Since the green car's predecessor, Ultimate Aero, costs $600,000, don't expect the new model to be cheap. However, the new car is expected to have a evolutionary power source allowing for extended time (several years) between charging intervals. The new Shelby SuperCar will be powered by a single or a twin 500 horsepower electric motor.
